Bold and graphic, this piece by Logo works a lot like, well, a logo. The simple combination of letters and words carry a complicated message — the struggles the residents of Oakland, not just graffiti writers, deal with regarding police brutality.
Speaking of which, watch this new video of the testimony of someone arrested at Occupy Oakland:
It’s rare to stumble upon a spraypaint work so large and detailed. Ambitious pieces tend to be crafted at home and pasted up later, but this one was executed on the street with such finesse. The risk it took impresses me as much as the painting itself. Logo combines a cartoonish–dare I say, cute– style with grotesque subject matter. His technical prowess captivates the viewer, leaving passersby at once amused and disturbed.
