abstract thought

Standard

This little wheatpaste by Modupe decorates a pole in a well-traveled part of Berkeley. It’s a highly abstract figure but I get a clear sense of its facial expression from its downcast eyes and sort of awkward stance. I really love these colors; bright yellow and cool green. The lines in this are simple, maybe even a little sloppy, but the piece conveys its own distinct attitude, and that’s what I appreciate.
